The Next Steps Process

When families are referred to Next Steps, we begin with a special in-depth intake process. During the intake, each family member is interviewed for their perspective regarding the challenges the family is facing. Parents, guardians and children will each meet with the case manager who will review court documents and gather planning information for the team to discuss. The team will then meet to discuss suitability to our programs and identify a proposed clinical plan for each member of the family focussed on best practices, with a special focus on the needs of the children.

Recommended goals and strategies for resolving the issues are then presented to the clients for review. The plan recommendations will include goals, timelines and the role of each professional.
